ABOUT EMORY LODGE
Welcome to Emory Lodge — a private mountain escape and one of the top vacation cabin rentals in Robbinsville, NC. Tucked deep within the Nantahala National Forest in western North Carolina, our secluded cabin offers sweeping Smoky Mountain views, peaceful creek sounds, and access to the region’s most beloved outdoor attractions.
Originally built in 1982 as a working trout farm, the property grew in 1985 with the addition of a second cabin, joined by a wide deck that’s now our family’s base when visiting from Atlanta. After purchasing the property in 2006, we poured years of care into renovating and restoring the lodge, opening it to guests in 2012. Today, Emory Lodge spans 2,200 square feet and blends rustic mountain charm with the modern comfort travelers love. And yes — we’re proud to offer a pet-friendly Smoky Mountain vacation rental.
Step outside and you’ll find a spacious yard bordered by West Buffalo Creek, with more than 600 feet of creek frontage.Guests can trout fish right from the deck, wander along the water, or simply unwind to the sound of rushing mountain streams.
The surrounding landscape is packed with stocked and native trout streams, hiking trails, and endless opportunities for waterfalls and wildlife viewing. Just six miles from the cabin is the stunning Lake Santeetlah recreation area, perfect for kayaking, swimming, and paddleboarding. Iconic attractions such as the Cherohala Skyway, Cheoah River, Nantahala whitewater rafting, the world-famous Tail of the Dragon, and the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest are all easy drives for unforgettable day trips and adventure.
